Cornucopia, Durham , NC Support Groups: No two people react exactly the same way to anything, especially cancer. However, many find they need support coping with the emotional and physical aspects of their disease. That’s why Cornucopia provides a variety of resources to support you through your cancer experience.
NC LIVESTRONG YMCA support program LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is 12-week program for adult cancer survivors. Survivors participate in a health and fitness program with nine other survivors in a small group setting. Yoga for Cancer Patients - UNC Lindberg, Chapel Hill and Durham, NC More research is being done on how the practice of yoga can have positive health effects for people living with cancer, cancer survivors and their caregivers. Studies of the effects of yoga on quality of life in people with cancer have shown encouraging results. Yoga has been shown to improve insomnia, decrease fatigue, and reduce stress as well as the side effects of cancer treatment.
